ABOUT EDSON, ALBERTA

Sitting in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains is the Town of Edson. In addition to its 8,500 residents, Edson is the local center of industry and commerce for the Yellowhead region. Take advantage of the thriving economy supported by the forestry, mining, and petroleum industries, and surrounded by tons of recreational opportunities including hunting, fishing, ATV’ing and snowmobiling. Try visiting Wilmore Park or Sundance Provincial Park for breathtaking scenery and fresh air.

There are many year-round events and activities at the town’s many recreational facilities, such as Talisman Place, which features a 25 metre pool, children’s activities, and two skating arenas. Also found in the town is Edson’s Municipal Library, Rotary Skateboard Park, and the Kinsmen Spray Park. Edson also has the Galloway Station Museum and Travel Centre featuring historical interpretation and education, and a meeting area.

Edson also brings residents together through local festivals and events. Edson is also proud of is Rotary Sundays in the Park: a series of free outdoor music events for the whole family in the summer months. In celebration of Canada Day, residents gather in Centennial Park for music and fireworks.
